One Bench in Las Vegas

MUSS is a leather studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Every piece we sell is cut, stitched, burnished and finished here, by hand, on one bench. Nothing is imported and finished. Nothing is drop-shipped. If you buy something from us, it was made a few miles from the Strip.

Why the Saddle Stitch

A sewing machine makes a lock stitch. Cut it anywhere and the whole seam unzips. A saddle stitch uses two needles running opposite directions through the same hole, so every stitch is independently locked. Cut it and the seam holds. It is slower, it cannot be automated, and it is the reason our work outlasts machine-sewn leather by decades.

We use full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, tanned with tree bark and other plant tannins instead of chrome salts. It starts stiff and pale and ends up dark, soft and shaped to whoever carries it. That change is the point.

Handmade, But Not Slow

Handmade usually means waiting. It does not have to. We build custom jigs and fixtures for every product we make, which lets one artisan produce serious volume without a machine ever touching the stitch line.

What We Stand Behind

Leather is a material that gets better with damage. Scratches burnish out. Colors deepen. Edges soften. If a stitch on something we made ever fails, send it back and we will repair it. That is not a marketing promise, it is just what hand-stitching lets us do.
