Learn the Saddle Stitch in Las Vegas
Step off the Strip for a few hours and build something with your hands that will outlive the trip. Our studio workshops are open to complete beginners. You leave with a piece you made yourself, not a souvenir someone else made for you.
Sessions and Pricing
Beginner Workshop, $145 per person
Three hours at the bench. You cut, punch, stitch and burnish your own card holder or flask wrap from full-grain vegetable-tanned leather. All tools, leather and finishing supplies included. No experience needed.
Private Group Session, from $125 per person
Minimum six people. Bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, family groups. Same hands-on format, your group only, scheduled around you.
Corporate Team Building, from $2,500
Up to 4 hours for your team, in our studio or at your venue. Each participant finishes their own piece. Optional company logo debossing on every item.
What You Learn
- The saddle stitch. The strongest hand-stitch there is, and the one machines cannot replicate.
- Leather selection. Why vegetable-tanned full-grain behaves differently from everything else.
- Traditional tools. Pricking irons, awls, edge bevelers and burnishers, used the way they have been for centuries.
- Finishing. Edge work and burnishing, the step that separates handmade from homemade.
Good to Know
- Sessions run about 3 hours. Arrive 10 minutes early.
- Ages 14 and up. Under 16 needs an adult in the room.
- Wear clothes you do not mind marking. Leather dye does not come out.
- Groups larger than 8 are handled as private sessions.
